GAMEPLAY
Gonzo’s Quest is based in Eldorado and, as the title would suggest, the storyline of the game is the search, or quest, of the lost city of gold by Gonzo. In reality, Gonzo is short for Gonzalo Pizarro, a legendary explorer so while there is a fantasy element to the game, the background for it is very much a real life one.
As highlighted above, the reels are slightly different here in that they are avalanche ones and they are filled with different symbols to the normal reels that we are used to. Icons in Gonzo’s Quest are a number of animal or mask faces on stone slabs, including things like a snake, alligator, bird and fish. There are also fire, moon and heath symbols with the last named one the most lucrative. A combination of five heaths pays 125 times your initial stake.
BONUS FEATURE
There is a lot going on in Gonzo’s Quest and the reason for that is the various features. The first one is the Avalanche feature with winning symbols exploding and crumbling into dust and being filled with further falling icons. That presents the chance to win more than once on each spin.
In the top right corner of the game you will see an Avalanche Multiplier counter. Whenever a winning combination comes along the Multipliers feature comes into play. Your first win gives you a 1x multiplier but if you keep playing through the multiplier goes up by up to 5x with each win!
Keep your eye out for the free fall scatter symbol as this launches the Free Falls Feature. If the scatter arrives on reels 1, 2 and 3 at the same time the feature is started. You get 10 free spins and immediately the avalanche multiplier begins at 3x your bet. It can go up to 15x so this feature can pay out quite big. You can also keep on winning more free spins should three or more scatters come along during a free spin, netting 20 in total.
