Pai Gow Poker Review
It is not all about reels, fruits and spinning icons as far as the team at Play’N Go are concerned as they take time away from traditional slot games to bring us one of the variants of the game of poker – Pai Gow Poker.
This is a game that brings the excitement of poker to you through the medium of your desktop, mobile or laptop device with clear graphics and a very easy to master interface.
GAMEPLAY
Although Texas Hold’em and Omaha are the most popular forms of poker there is a complexity to them and a real strategic feel to those variants. That isn’t the case with Pai Gow Poker. There is a simplicity to it and not as much strategy connected to the game which is one of the appealing traits of it.
The immediate difference is that you are only playing against the dealer rather than the other players at the table. The game itself is all about forming the best two hands from the seven cards you are dealt. You need to form a pair and a five card hand. One other difference is that it is a 53-card deck in use for this game as there is a joker involved too. This substitutes for an Ace which means it can be the final card for a straight, a flush or ideally a straight flush.
Once you have made your two hands you then compare them to those of the dealer to see who wins.
If both your hands better the two the dealer has you will get double your stake returned. If you win a hand each then you will push which means it is just your stake you get back. If the dealer beats both your hands you lose your stake. Any tied hands go the way of the dealer by virtue of the house edge.
There are few strict rules in Pai Gow Poker but one you need to adhere to is that the five card hand must be stronger than the two card one.
BONUS FEATURE
With this not being a traditional slot game, but more a table game, there are no bonus features that you get with video slots. The game is purely the player against the dealer.
RTP
Those who play the Pai Gow Poker game have the advantage of playing a table which has an RTP rating of 97.15%, which is a decent figure for the player.
VERDICT
If you like poker but aren’t yet familiar with the technical games like Omaha or Texas Hold’em then Pai Gow Poker could be the game for you. There is a real simplicity to this game but there is enough strategy to it to make the game interesting and allow you to understand how the more complex forms of poker could work. If you have had enough of spinning reels for a while and want to try an appealing table game where the chances of getting a payout are pretty strong then make sure you give Pai Gow Poker a try!
