The Snake Charmer slot game is an Asian themed video slot which is given to us by the team at NextGen Gaming. The slot was created and released way back in August 2013 and was very popular at the time as it was something different in terms of the background.
The imagery and the background sounds are of an Indian origin for this game, with a temple that looks like the Taj Mahal in the distance blended into the night sky. The graphics are clear and in a way quite iconic and there is an easy feel about the layout of the machine. The Snake Charmer can now be played across all desktop, mobile and tablet devices.
GAMEPLAY
The theme to this slot is strange but surprisingly compelling! It is a slot with five reels and 25 different paylines and the background story is basically the quest to get a serpent to pay you out a stack of coins. It is all very different to what we are used to seeing but in its own way that is part of the intrigue of it!
The key icons in use for this game all have an Indian origin about them. There are the usual card symbols from 9, 10, J, Q, K and A, but then there are the higher paying icons such as an elephant, the pungi, baskets of snakes and a Bollywood dancing girl. She is the top payer of the base icons. She brings payout between 2 and 1,500 coins. There is also a Wild which is the snake and the snake charmer is the Scatter.
BONUS FEATURE
Features are a little few and far between in The Snake Charmer slot game. There is only one really, which comes in the form of a Free Spins feature. The feature is activated when three snake charmer Scatters land on the reels.
You’ll be given 10 free spins. While playing the free spins keep your eyes peeled for the snakes which climb out of the baskets under the reels. If they fill an entire reel they will turn it wild. If you get them in the right position wins can come along quickly. The obvious downside to this feature is once the 10 spins have been played that is it. There is no re-trigger option.

VERDICT
Despite its different theme and story, the Snake Charmer slot game is very simple and as a result of that quite easy to play. It is extremely low volatile and the free spins feature isn’t the best so you are unlikely to win hugely big on this game, but if you like games that have standout visuals and a happy jingle to play along to then you won’t go far wrong with this NextGen Gaming option. There is something strangely compelling about the game so we suggest you give it a try.
