One of the most popular stories to have ever been told is the novel written by Jules Verne, in which a traveller looks to travel around the world in 80 days.
Indeed, Playtech and Ash Gaming have taken inspiration from the classic novel – which has received a number of adaptations in the media world – and they have produced the Around the World slot game.
We felt we were on our own trip whilst doing our Around the World review and we are sure players who take to the reels will also feel as though they are experiencing their own adventure!
Gameplay
Around the World is played on a 5-reel grid and features 20 paylines that can be adjusted. Should players wish to play with all of them active, then they can place a bet as high as R500. A wager of this amount could fetch a reward of R100,000 if the right winning combination were to fall in place.
Bets of just R0.01 are also available, though, therefore allowing players of all budgets to be able to try and travel around the world in 80 days and experience the colourful and interesting theme provided by Playtech and Ash Gaming.
The background features all the iconic landmarks that can be found across the planet, whilst the graphics take everyone back to a previous era as they are provided in a rather antique style. Fitting in with the theme of the game, the symbols all resemble the period in which the novel was written.
There is a balloon, a ship, a train, a boat, an elephant and a camel all available on the paytable in which rewards can be won when these form winning sequences. The traveller is the most rewarding in regards to the amount paid when five of them appear on an active payline, as he can provide wins worth R10,000!
He also acts as one of the game’s two Wilds. The other Wild is the Around the World slot game logo and both possess the power to substitute all regular icons on the paytable to form wins. However they can not substitute the other Wild, the Scatter or the Globe bonus.
The traveller will provide players with a 2x multiplier as well and if two appear anywhere on the reels on an active payline, then the win is doubled.
Feature Bonuses
One of the few Around the World bonus features Playtech and Ash Gaming have provided players with is the ‘Reverse Play’ game. When activated, players will win when they have initially lost. Basically, players will be able to flip the game and play it in reverse. Essentially, a non-winner in this feature will provide a reward, whereas a winning line will not.
Our Around the World game review also found that there is a Compass Scatter feature, a Globe Bonus and a Travel Game all available to the lucky punters able to activate them.
Landing 3, 4, or 5 of the Globe Symbols will see the Travel bonus triggered and this will take players around the world in search of more prizes. All players will need to do is to select one of the four routes to go on and try and go as far as they possibly can.
The Compass Scatter symbol will apply progressive multipliers that start from 2x and rise all the way to 32x, whilst all Wilds will apply a 2x multiplier on all winning combinations that they form.
