GAMEPLAY
The Munchkins slot game has five reels and 15 paylines so it is quite a low volatile slot, as you would expect from a machine that has a cartoon design and a theme where food is very much a part of the action. A number of creatures will be looking to eat up your everyday items such as your wallet, homework and keys on the reels. The other icons include the usual playing card symbols.
There are two key icons in the Munchkins slot game. They are the Wild, which in this case is the light blue symbol,l which will replace any icon apart from the Scatter symbol, potentially making winning combinations easier to come by. The other symbol is the Scatter which is the Oreo cookie. Just two of these are needed across the reels to form a payout while three or more launch one of the features.
BONUS FEATURE
There are two different features to this popular Microgaming slot game. The main one is the Free Spins Feature which cones along when three, four or five of those Scatter icons hit the reels. You receive 20 free spins and any wins in this round are doubled. The feature can be reactivated which is a real positive.
The other feature in this game is the Gamble Feature. If you are a regular slot player you will have come across this a fair bit but Munchkins gives you the chance to double or quadruple any win that you have. To double your win you need to choose the colour of a card correctly, while quadrupling the winnings involves picking the correct suit. This is a gamble though because if you bet and lose all your winnings from that spin disappear.

Munchkins doesn’t rate too well when it comes to the RTP rating. It is 95.88% which is a little on the low side from the player point of view.
VERDICT
Munchkins is a fun game to play as a lot of Microgaming slots are. The graphics are a delight and the theme and playability of the slot is very entertaining. If there is a negative aside from the RTP rating then it comes in the shortage of features, but given how the Free Spins feature can be retriggered, that is only a minor issue. If you like your slots fun to play and with a low volatility make sure you keep Munchkins to hand.
