As we have seen with many of Quickspin’s other slot games, fairy tales and classic stories appear to be a huge source of inspiration for the developer and Pied Piper slot game is certainly no different.
This Pied Piper slot game review will take readers on the journey of the classic tale as players return to the village of Haelim, Germany, and look to lure away another infestation of mice away from the area.
Gameplay
Quickspin have opted for a traditional 5-reeled slot game with their Pied Piper offering, providing players with the opportunity to win from 40 fixed paylines. Bets can be made from as little as R0.20 per spin, whilst those high-rollers amongst us can place a maximum wager of R100.
There are other customisable options available within the game, with the speed of the reels able to be quickened as well as the possibility of being able to spin the reels automatically; two features that are traditionally found in this particular developer’s catalogue of games.
As with many of their games, Pied Piper slot game has various symbols and icons players can look out for when trying to form winning combinations and these can be split into two different paying categories. Those that are among the low-payers include the traditional playing card symbols (A, K, Q, J, 10) which have been designed with a medieval feel. Those icons that feature the high-earners, though, include the bags of gold coins, the silver keys, the mayor, his wife and his daughter.
There are also three special symbols that players can look to land on the reels; two Wilds in the form of the Pied Piper and the mouse, whereas there is a ‘Bonus’ icon – which acts as the game’s Scatter.
Feature Bonuses
The aforementioned special symbols provide players with the chance of triggering some great rewards, all of which can be tested in the Pied Piper Free Play version found at the top of the page!
The Pied Piper is the first special icon to be found on the grid and will initiate the Piper Respins feature when he lands on a reel. This will see him play his pipe and walk left one reel after each spin. He has the ability to substitute all other icons in the game (expect for the Scatter) but can only be landed on reels 3, 4 or 5.
In addition to the Pied Piper, the mice Wild will follow him if the feature has been triggered and they also have the ability to substitute the base game icons that appear on the reels to form a winning combination. There is also the Mystery Re-trigger feature and this comes into effect randomly on the final respin, and this could see the Pied Piper restart his tune from reel 5 once again.
The last of the special symbols mentioned early is the ‘Bonus’ Scatter symbol and when three of these are landed, a ‘Free Spins’ round will be activated. Players will receive a reward of 10 free spins and between one and six mouse Wilds will be added to the reels during each spin randomly.
RTP (return to player)
Quickspin have provided players with a 96.32% return to player (RTP) rate for their Pied Piper slot game, and in addition, it is a medium volatility slot, therefore providing bettors with a good chance of turning the reels for some big wins!
