Pirate themes have also been hugely popular – perhaps because of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie franchise – and Quickspin have certainly looked to take inspiration from the theme with their Pirate’s Charm slot game.
Our Pirate’s Charm game review takes players on this treasure hunt as pirates look to charm their way to rewards, whilst also providing players with the opportunity to test the game out for themselves with the Pirate’s Charm Free Play demo above.
Gameplay
Pirate’s Charm slot game has a different format compared to some of the developer’s other titles, as it introduces a 243 Ways to Win format, rather than traditional paylines. Winning combinations are formed when symbols match on any adjacent reels from the left.
Pirates can get in the action from as little as R0.10 per spin, whereas those that want to find the best treasures will be able to stake up to R100 per spin. There are a number of customisable options as well to further enhance the treasure hunt. Players can adjust the speed the reels are spun with the ‘Fast Spin’ button, as well as allowing for the reels to be spun automatically for a period of time with their ‘Autoplay’ option.
There are a number of different symbols included in this Quickspin slot game, with the lowest paying icons in the form of the playing card icons that can be found in many slot game (10, J, Q, K and A) whereas the ship’s wheel, skull and crossed swords, and the three pirates all offering the bigger payouts. The captain, unsurprisingly, is the most valuable icon as he pays out five times the stake when landed all across five reels.
Feature Bonuses
There are a few bonus features that our Pirate’s Charm review managed to uncover and these come in the form of some other special symbols available on the paytable.
The first is the ‘Mystery Charm’ feature. This symbol – which is a hexagonal icon that has a number of different symbols already available in the game on it – can appear in any spin and has the ability to transform into any other icon when it lands on the reels. It should be noted that it does not always transform into a winning combination, though.
There is a chance that a random Mystery Spin will be awarded as well. Mystery charms on reels one, two and three will not immediately transform into other symbols as this will trigger a respin feature instead. They will stay locked on the reels and let reels four and five spin again. This can continue if more Mystery Charms continue to land.
The ship is the bonus symbol that provides players with 10 free spins if three or more icons are landed on the reels in any position. During these free spins, Mystery Charms will remain locked on the reels – if any appear – and if the reels are filled out with them, then an extra two free spins are awarded.
